Accessibility Statement for Pope Tech

Pope Tech is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities.
We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant
accessibility standards.

Measures to support accessibility

Pope Tech takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website and applications:

  • Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
  • Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
  • Every Pope Tech employee attends accessibility training from WebAIM.
  • Assign clear accessibility targets and responsibilities.
  • Accessibility is part of our quality assurance process for each update.
  • As part of our accessibility efforts we use Pope Tech to run weekly scans on all of our public
web pages and pages inside of the Pope Tech application itself. Our standard is 0 detectable
errors. Any regressions are prioritized and quickly remediated.
  • We regularly have internal manual audits using keyboard and screen reader testing.
  • External audits are regularly performed by WebAIM.

Conformance Goal

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
(WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people
with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Although we specifically strive to exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA
conformance, conformance or compliance isn’t our goal. Our philosophy is accessibility over
compliance. We welcome all
feedback.

Limitations and alternatives

Accessibility is a process that you can never check off. We believe web accessibility is inherently
public information and publish all open accessibility issues publicly on our website. These might be reported by
users, discovered by internal or external audits. We value transparency.
Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed in our open accessibility tickets page or have
any feedback, positive or negative, about the accessibility of any Pope Tech website or interface.
