U.S. Federal Appeals Court Slams Unethical ADA Practice

This is an article about a court opinion in the United States. The opinion punished a lawyer and his deaf client for filing disability discrimination cases that were unethical. The cases were about videos on gas pumps that did not have captions. The court opinion said that the lawyer and his client only cared about the money they would make. They did not care about making gas pump videos available to people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Lainey thinks this is an important case. She is happy with the outcome. On August 17, 2021 judges in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld sanctions against a Florida lawyer (Scott Dinin) and his client (Alexander Johnson) because of unethical conduct in cases brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and similar Florida law.
