The 4to24 App: For Parents of Blind or Low Vision Youth
The 4to24 app is a free mobile app created for parents of youth who are blind or have low vision. It covers ages 4 to 24 years, to go from preschool age into young adulthood. It focuses on building independence over time to prepare your son or daughter for successful employment and independent living as an adult.
The app provides information, activities, and links to resources to inform you about skills and experiences that would be helpful for your child as he or she grows. Modules of information are delivered based on the youth’s age, grade, and experience level in particular topic areas. Topics include things like building social skills, literacy, technology, academics, daily living skills, and more. Modules are self-paced (no deadlines!) so parents can use the information at their convenience.
Youth with blindness or low vision who are ages 16 to 24 can also use the app and will receive information about the same topics, written specifically for a younger audience.
The app is free to access for parents and youth. To sign up, download the app and create an account by registering as a new user. The app will ask for some basic information [...]
