MTA makes useless fix at Bronx subway station for people on wheelchairs

There’s a cruel joke at the Middletown Road subway station on the No. 6 line in the Bronx.

Across from the lone token booth, the MTA has installed a low-level MetroCard reader. It’s designed to open a wide gate for wheelchair users .

But barring a Christmas miracle, there’s no way a person in a wheelchair can catch a subway train at Middletown Road.
