A ‘virtual house’ showcasing equipment to support independent living has been launched by Medway Council.

The online tool suggests various objects for every room in the house, such as a stair lift in the hallway or a two handled cup in the kitchen.

The guide includes occupational therapy equipment, as well as support aids and assistive technology, said the council.

Teresa Murray, portfolio holder for public health, said: "New technologies are being developed all the time and we want people in Medway to have access to the most modern and up to date sources of help."

The tool, external includes prices and links on where the assistive technology can be purchased from.

Ms Murray said the council wanted feedback on "how useful it is and how easy it is to use".
