Rebecca Rosenberg has struggled with low vision her entire life. She was born with a genetic condition that impaired her eyesight. Throughout life, Rosenberg was offered multiple assistive technologies, but none of them truly fit her needs. Rosenberg set out to develop a technology that is beneficial to people with low vision.
ReBokeh provided visually impaired people with assistive technology that allows individuals to better see the world around them. Rosenberg launched ReBokeh in 2019 when she was a student at Bucknell University, and continued to grow the company after transitioning to Johns Hopkins University in 2020 for her graduate studies.
Low vision, or being visually impaired is not something that can be corrected with prescription lenses. In the United States, there are more than 25 million people who are considered visually impaired or have low vision.
