DRC’s legislative staff advocate in the California State Legislature and with the Governor on legislation and the state budget. We focus on legislation and budget items that impact people with disabilities and public programs that provide services and supports. Each year the Board of Directors adopts a policy platform stating its priorities for legislation that DRC will sponsor and oppose and budget advocacy priorities. DRC staff works with legislators and their staff to draft legislation consistent with the policy platform.
