One of the latest offerings in Quickie’s power wheelchair lineup is the Q500 H, which features a unique “hybrid-drive” system designed to combine the capabilities of rear-wheel and mid-drive systems.
“The Q500 H is like nothing else Quickie has ever done before. It was designed for people who want it all — an ideal balance of robust outdoor performance as well as the great maneuverability and broad options for indoor activities,” said Bernd Krebs, Quickie’s chief technical officer, in a statement.
Quickie says it moved the rear drive wheel closer to the middle of the frame to give the Q500 H better traction and a smaller turning radius than a traditional rear-wheel drive chair, while offering more robust outdoor performance than mid-wheel-drive options. In addition, the Q500 H features 9-inch front casters that Quickie says helps the chair climbs curbs up to 3 inches.
