Here’s what happened.
As someone who’s travelled solo in a wheelchair within New Zealand and abroad, I knew travelling with two other friends who also use wheelchairs would be possible, but it wasn’t going to be easy.
I knew there would be some unexpected bumps along the way, like one lady at the airport who asked us if we were travelling as part of a Paralympic team – because why else would three wheelchair-users be travelling together?
