Apple on Wednesday released a new short film called The Relay. The film showcases adaptive athletes with various disabilities in competition, assisted of course with a slew of accessibility features from Apple’s panoply of software platforms. They include Point and Speak in the Magnifier app on iPhone, as well as AssistiveTouch on Apple Watch.
The Relay is the latest installment of a triumvirate of similarly-veined films from the Cupertino-based captain of the tech industry. In the last few years, the company has released The Greatest and The Lost Voice that aim to telegraph the message that (a) those in the disability are as human as and as capable as able-bodied people; and (b) Apple’s products indeed are eminently accessible.
