With today’s release of iOS 18.1 (and its brethren platforms) comes with it the official launch of Apple Intelligence. It’s a momentous occasion for Apple and the industry as a whole, a day with real “today’s the first day of the rest of your life” vibes for everyone—Apple and its users alike.
Predictably lost amidst the handwringing about Apple’s perceived tardiness to the artificial intelligence arena and how prepared John Giannandrea and crew are, the ramifications of Apple Intelligence’s arrival—imperfect and staggered though it is—on the disability community are immense and cannot be overstated.
