Achilles and Citi Bike Adaptive Cycling Program
Achilles International is proud to partner with the Citi Bike® team in expanding our Adaptive Cycling Program in New York City. We offer free, weekly adaptive cycling sessions for people with disabilities, especially first time riders in:
Central Park, Manhattan
Prospect Park, Brooklyn
Williamsbridge Oval, the Bronx
Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens
Together, we are advancing access to recreational opportunities for those who may be experiencing an economic hardship, but wish to give adaptive cycling a try.
The program runs from May 14 through November 5. Details on how to join or volunteer are below.
People living with disabilities can reserve a tandem bike or handcycle for recreational use. They cannot be used for commuting elsewhere. Achilles staff and volunteer guides will be on-site to answer any questions and help train new riders.
