Use real HTML list elements

Rely on real HTML numbered and bulleted list elements to group related items
Lists are more than just a visual representation of an idea or grouping. Whenever the proper semantic list elements are omitted, assistive technology users are left with a structure that lacks meaning. Lists create relationship between items, providing user agents and assistive technologies with a semantic structure that can be drawn upon to help users better deal with the content. Ordered (numbered) lists require the use of the OL element, while unordered (bulleted) list require using the UL element. The DL element is used to group terms with their definitions.
To do this, simply make sure that whenever content needs to be displayed as a list, that real HTML list markup is being used to do it. By using the proper HTML element, the appropriate semantic will automatically be conveyed to users, including users of assistive technologies. This will not only help them understand that they are about to enter a grouping of items and whether that grouping is ordered or not, but also how many items that list contains.
