Make sure navigation menus are marked up using unordered list elements

Navigation menus are essentially sets of hyperlinks, pointing to different pages or parts of the same document. Whether these links are displayed vertically or horizontally, with or without bullets changes very little to the fact that they represent a type of grouping, whose meaning far exceeds its presentation. Semantically, when it comes to marking up navigation menus, no HTML element comes closer to conveying the nature of the object than the UL element.
